I have my medical booked for next Tuesday (eek!) with Dr Smith in Manchester. I believe that I need to supply my own medical form (Medical and Chest X-ray Certificate), trouble is I only have access to a B+W printer - does anyone know ifl it matter if the blue bits on the form print out as grey?
Or should I try and find a friend with a colour printer, or can I ask the London office to send me a form?
Thanks!

I printed our in B&W.
We saw Dr Smith, and he really is lovely, very down to earth. I wouldn't mind him as my GP. Medicals for me, OH and little'un took an hour in total, and then it took another hour for us to have our x-rays, and wait for the films to be processed.

Thanks very much to all of you for replying, it is good to have one less thing to worry about :)
Jane> that is good news about Dr Smith, I feel a bit less nervous about it now, thanks.

Jenelopy - I was a bit surprised at how detailed the medical was, to be honest. Urine & blood samples, sight test, height & weight - I expected all those. But in addition there was:
- bending down to touch toes
- rotating arms behind the head
- listening to chest, back & sides
- skin examination, fingernails etc
- look in the mouth / down throat
- neck prodding
- stomach prodding
- reflex checking
It was all very quick but amazingly in depth!
Good luck!

Same for me, I was surprised at how much prodding there needed to be. I kept wanting to ask him what he was testing for :). It all seemed to go alright though I think, now I just have to wait for the results...
TOPTIP:
If you have long hair, take enough hairbands/clips to be able to tie your hair up right on the top of your head so it wont cast a shadow during the chest Xray. I only had one hair band, which wasn't enough for my annoyingly thick hair. The lovely radiologist had to run round looking for some hairgrips for me... :o

Hi Jenelopy.
Be warned, when you pick up the results, they will be in a sealed & signed envelope, so you don't get to see them....
When I asked them about this (how would we know if we had "passed"??), they explained that if the medical shows up a problem, they would let us know. So no news is good news :)
However, as has been pointed out by other forum members, the good doctor doesn't actually pass or fail anyone - that is entirely decided by NZIS.
But at least thatis one hurdle over....

Some people opened theirs I believe. I think I want to do the same cos yes you need to know if you have passed - if we haven't passed then our house will come off the market and I will reject my job offer - seems mad not to let you know.
