Is there a decent Guitar shop in Wellington where I can get strings for my guitars and valves (vacuum tubes) for my amps when I need 'em?
Or would I be better bringing a shed load with me?

Yup, there is music works, the rockshop, for a start. They are the big name shops, and i have seen many smaller independant shops scattered about too.
