This crowd (http://www.ascent.co.nz) have a pretty good range of bits and pieces - they're a bit more expensive than a few places, but the prices will give you a good idea. PC bits tend to be fairly cheap as there's a lot of components made in China. You'll also see product brands here that probably never make it to the US or the UK.

2 places I've found for PC bits are
www.tastech.co.nz
www.cbcnz.co.nz
both reasonable (for NZ standards, which are more expensive than the UK) and good service too

Most common still def Windows XP 32bit as it probably is around the world still sadly!

Myself as others above swear by using Mac OS X only :nice1
And i actually found some good 2nd hand deals on Macs over here, i nearly bought a G4 Powerbook for $700 which i thought was excellent price (tops powerbook specs and A1 nic) but i got sensible and bought a 2nd hand G4 emac in A1 condition for less than $250 :cheers :cheers Yup its not as flash as a new Mac, and believe me i would love my old 21" imac i had in UK back, but pennies wont allow for sometime yet, so for now its this trusty emac which still runs all latest OS etc fine with a bit tuning :D

Yes of course, it's Patty and Selmas pet lizard....I knew it was a lizard but I was getting it confused with Sahra Connor's lizard "Pugsley" in Terminator.

I would agree that XP is the most common here. Vista seems to be struggling to get a foothold (not surprised, it's hideous).

I've just installed Linux on our home desktop PC - but I'm not a geek, honest!
