Hello All,

I am not in the US at the moment but me and my OH have spent more than 12 months in the US. I, therefore, have to get an FBI clearance cert (as per INZ web site) from the USA.

The web site asks the applicant to submit multiple finger prints from an authorized law enforcing agency or a finger printing agency.

Now the problem is "There is no agency in my country that provides finger printing services and also law enforcing agencies do not offer any thing like this, at least no to the accuracy that FBI requires.
I have already received Police clearance certificates from my Town Police Station where we lived for approx 3 years.

Should i go ahead and submit the Town ones (even if the web site specifically asks for the FBI checks)?

The web site also states that if one cannot get the police certs, he/she has to prove that an effort has been made. Well ! can't even show that unless any correspondence with FBI is there.......

Help!!!

Hammad,

Have you check the FBI web site: http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/fprequest.htm

Maybe if you print this form (http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/pdf/fpcardb.pdf) and have prints taken locally and mail to the FBI?

That would show a good faith effort.

Emily
