Hi all,

Just a quickie for those in the know! My husband has been offered a job with a Talent Accredited Employer. However, would it be best to still submit an EOI and try and get Residency before going over to NZ or go the Work to Residence route and apply for residency when we get there - really not sure on what path would be easier for a family of five. He has 165 points and he needs to start the job by next August 08.

Thanks for any advice!

We went the WTR route and in hindsight should have gone straight for PR.

If you have time (which you do), then it is simpler in the long run to get PR straight away.

If you went WTR, you would still need medicals and police certificate (if applying for 2 years+), and unless you apply for PR very quickly on arriving in NZ you would need to do medicals etc all again. You would also fill in the forms for WTR and then PR - just not worth it IMO.

WTR is good if you want to get to NZ quickly.
