Hi
Just wanted to check that what I received is what is required
I received the police check back this morning & all it is is a bit of paper that says no records are held on me
Is that realy it, that is all NZIS need?
Just seems a bit weird but I suppose it says what's needed
Thanks all

Hi Lindsey,
The Police Record letter will say something like: 'Under Section 7 of the Data Protection Act........ there is no information held about you in the Person Record Section '
That's it!!

If you're in Scotland, you need two - one from the local Police (Lothian and Borders for me) and another from Scotland Yard.
They both said more or less the same thing - except the wording on one was more a sort of "we think he's probably guilty of something, we just don't know what yet..." :laugh

The Lothian & Borders one was really quick - about three days. The English one was pushing right up against the time limit. But why do people in Scotland who've not lived in England for more than ten years need two, when those in England don't? So if you live in England, but plan later to emigrate, you should commit all your crimes in Scotland?

The Scottish police system is a different entity (as are most Scottish systems) and I don't think they have any direct links to the others, so records aren't automatically shared. That said, I think they could cooperate together if required ;)
