I can't believe that we've got our PR & in the end, it really didn't take long at all! I've been told by NZIS that our passports will be couriered back to us next week with blue stickers included!
I want to thank everyone who contributes to this forum because without your help we would still be at the EOI stage. There really is a fantastic wealth of knowledge & information in this site & I hope that I'll be able to contribute & help someone in the future (now that I know that what we did must have been ok to have been granted PR).
Now, it's the panic of getting our belongings sorted & ready to be shipped. We aim to arrive in mid Jan '08 & that doesn't feel very far away now! The plan is to get the boys into schools for the start of the year but, there's so much to be done..most importantly, we need to rent a house in the schools' zones. Any help here as to find a rental when not actually in NZ would be really appreciated!

Congratulations! You must be thrilled!
http://www.realestate.co.nz/ is a good place to start looking for rentals - you can contact the estate agents for each rental directly, I found it to be quite useful. I e-mailed some of the agents listed on the site, and 90% of them responded. Good luck with the next phase!

Thank you so much for all kind messages & many thanks Bergita for the rentals link - very useful.
We were very lucky as my husband had a good job offer, on the skills shortage list & with an accredited company & I know that definitely helped to push us up the ladder.
I read a useful post by someone on this forum about contacting your case officer, under the pretence of requesting information, in order to establish communication. I followed this advice & I'm sure it helped both myself & the case officer to appreciate that we weren't just pieces of paper to be shifted around.
I wish the very best of luck to those of you who are waiting for your Visa Approvals. Just don't give up, be patient but, make contact with your case officer (when one is allocated) as soon as you can and establish a positive relationship.
