Silly question perhaps, but I am sinking under a pile of visa paperwork and losing the will to live....

I need to supply evidence of work experience & quals to NZIS to support my Talent work visa application. Do they return it all with the visas & passports? And what about the medical / police certificates - do they return those or keep them?

Thanks,
Jane

I cannot confirm anything for you (I am fairly sure they will return originals) but wanted to wish you well with the process.
Good luck!

From what I remember, they return original documents.
The don't return certified copies, medicals or police certificates.

Huh! So you never get to see the contents of the sealed medical results!

Hopefully when I submit our PR application I can just refer to the same medical / police documents, as long as they are still in date...

Oh will the paperwork ever end?!?!??!

As said by others on the forum, NZIS don't actually require sealed medical results so if you haven't sent them yet can open them and have a read after all they are yours. There has also been the occasion when the Doctor has failed to fill in part of the form or there is a mistake, so you would be able to correct the problem which at the very least would save you time.

Hey jane
We opened our medicals although have to say was a bit of a wuss and opened bottom of envelope and re-sealed before sending to NZIS. In fact if I remember rightly the doctor had sealed with sellotape and then signed over the seal
Best of luck

I had a last minute panic when I realised that I needed to get another form completed (and countersigned by a notary public or solicitor) - this is because my OH is claiming for a work visa on family grounds (with me as the principal applicant). Anyway I bundled it all together and made it to the post office 5 minutes before it closed :) I just put in the sealed mecial envelopes as they stood.

Hopefully in 2 - 3 weeks we'll have our work visas... fingers crossed!

I was planning to apply for PR once the work visas were all done, but is there any reason why I can't submit the application now? I don't have passports or medicals, but I can explain that they've already been submitted.
