Does anyone know how the maternity benefits/rights are in NZ?

How does it compare to the UK?

Do you mean from employers i.e. pay, time off etc.

I think it depends on the employer.

NZ Telecom offer 6 weeks paternity pay which covers for materbity also.

When I left NZ eight years ago there was no such thing as paid maternity leave. Your employer was obliged to hold your job for you for a year but that was that. I believe there is now some statutory paid leave, but nothing like what you get here in the UK. Thank goodness I had my kids here!! I'm sure someone will be able to answer this for you.
