We've been here 5 months and despite being assured that our rental property would be available for years we've just been told to be out by mid-Jan.
Its probably only 4 months since we unpacked 270 boxes from a 3/4 full 40ft container. Several are still untouched and we've only recently completed sorting out bookcase/book/tools etc into their correct homes.
We've even planted vegetables/chillies in the garden and put down a load of mulch to reduce the weeding.
Expecting to purchase a place in <12 months so that will be 3 full packups and unpacks in about a year. Ahhhh.
Yes they are allowed to turf us out, just pretty upset about the disruption, esp over Xmas. Also ruined our holiday plans and will divert us from house hunting.
..
Anyway rant over
....

Can anyone give us an approx idea of the removal costs for that amount of stuff (270 boxes -3/4 of a 40ft container). Move would be no more than 30 minutes away, somewhere in ChCh area.
Also any suggestions for removals? Keep hearing nightmares about certain companies.
We'd probably try to move garden/bikes/electronics stuff etc ourself maybe with a van hire. Not sure.

Why not look now for a place to live ? Moving here takes a lot less time than the UK and you could find a place and move in by mid Jan. Would save another move in 6 months time :)

Can't recommend a removal firm in Chch, but recommend getting a firm to o a full pack and move, certainly worth it to reduce the stress levels :nice1
