Hi
Our move to NZ Dunedin is imminent, flying to Christchurch on the 31st December 2007.
John Mason is packing on the 28th and 29th December. All is organised except initial accommodation and Marine insurance we had quotes from the removal companies but 3.5% is on the high side. Consequently I consulted good old Google and came across Kay International Plc they quoted for an all risk insurance1% of total value and is underwritten by Lloyds.
Has anybody used Kay International or had any experiences?

Ohh thanks for that, we have John Masons coming on 27th & 28th Dec so think I will look at the insurace you have mentioned as we just opted for what they sent, didn't think about going elsewhere but at that price I can insure everything :nice1

Hi Lindsey
I have just looked at my quote and it works out at circa 0.85 percent.

One of the chaps in the Wairarapa Railroad Modellers group has been doing some research on freight containers and found out that about 10000 of them fall off of ships into the ocean every year.

On the bright side I would guess that the vast majority of containers aren't people's belongings, but commercial cargo.
