I was wondering if anyone could tell me what there experiences have been for their children making friends. I live in an area where no children on my street know each other, which I think is such a shame! Children tend to stay indoors playing Nintendo's etc. I invite children from my child's school and that has been really nice but was wondering what NZ is like?

Our kids don`t really play on the pavement/street as we are on a back section but other kids down the road do. Our children do ride their scooter around the block and they certainly bring friends back after school every week or get invited to their friends`s houses.They didn`t find it hard to make friends. Kids are rarely in - apart from all the after school activities they take part in, the outdoor life is just too tempting for them, even at the expense of Playstations etc.

Some play in the streets though, but there is usually that much space and places for them to play, they tend to be out of sight most of the time.
