I've been given a shipping quote by Columbia (who we have used for internal removals & I am very happy with :) ) & the agent that Columbia use in Auckland is Transworld International (who i have never heard of :o ).
Before I accept this quote (& having read some of the nightmare stories that have been related in this forum) I'd welcome any feedback from anyone who has used, or heard of, Transworld in NZ.
Many thanks!

I'm getting worried now...please let me know if you have heard of/used Transworld International removals ? Any recommendations/insights would be really helpful ....the Good, the Bad or the Ugly!
Thank you in anticipation!

Hi Rebecca,
sorry, I haven't heard of them, and there is no mention of them on this forum before (I checked using the search button). A quick google brought up this http://relocationconsultants.co.nz/acatalog/Links.html they seem to use them.
IT's worrying organsiing a big move like this, and a bit scary if no-one's heard of the company you want to use; however, I've never heard of Columbia...:D
We used John Masons UK side and THe Moving Company here (twice, as they were so good.) However, others on this forum have had different experiences with The Moving Company. I guess it boils down to your own feeling of confidence, propoer insurance and a philosophical mindset!
Good luck with the organising, and just think of Bucklands Beach in the sun....

Best I can offer you is we used a company called "Transeuro" when we came 12 years ago.
They could have changed....I don't know.
But I can say they were absolutely excellent from start to finish.

Hi There,
Just spotted this post. We moved to NZ 3yrs ago, shipped our belongins out to Auckland, then moved on to Hawkes Bay. Transworld were the agent we had in NZ, they are based in Albany, we didn't have any problem with them, as soon as our shipment landed they let us know and we went to thier offices in Albany to talk over a few things, see we had a small problem:uhoh in that we were not going to stay in Auckland, we had decided it wasn't for us, and we were going to move on to Havelock North in Hawkes Bay. We agreed on a price for storage, as we didn't have a fixed address at that time. Anyway to cut a long story short, our furniture was delivered to Havelock, safe and sound, no breakages,:nice1 we found the guys all worked really hard, just keep them well supplied with coffee and biscuits:laugh They arrived at 8am seems they left Auckland in the early hours of the morning, they were gone by 2pm, and we had a 40ft container:D Worked out a bit more expensive than we had hoped, but hey this emigrating lark, costs a arm and a leg, but its well worth it.
Anyway hopes this puts your mind at rest a little:

Phew! It's good to hear that you had a good moving experience with them, Moira. Thank you for sharing that with me. It's always a relief to know that [I]someone [I]has had positive experience from using a company.
Allied Pickfords are coming today to give me a quote but, sounds from other posts, like they are going to be pricey. I'm amazed at the huge variation in the quotes that we have been given so far!
Thanks for the encouraging posts Carol & Gil...my alcohol intake has doubled to cope with the stress of this move!

ps When I saw your photo of BB, Gil, it reminds me of how worth it this will all be once we get there! Can you swim in the sea there or is it a bit parky?

You certainly can swim in the sea, Rebecca, the kids have been a lot the last few weekends, and a friend of mine who visited in October also did, but he did admit it was bit on the cold side!
Here's another pic to keep you going:
