The ITA arrived in the post today! I was very surprised as only selected o 7th November and no job offer so hadn't expected to hear anything until January. My husband is a nurse on the skills shortage list so I guess that must get priority.

I have a question having had a quick look through the letter reagrding the proof of work experience. - It mentions that the references need to state the average weekly hours worked and then in brackets (especially if part-time). Thsi makes it sound liek its not an absolute requirement? My husband has got references for all the jobs but they don't mention anywhere they were full time. He has a copy of his contract for the longest job so that covers 6 years out of the 9 he's claiming but not for the rest.

He had a lot of hassle getting the references orginally and doesn't really want to go back to the people agian if he can avoid it -anyone else who has been through this who can advise?

One more quick one - at the top of the letter it says no folders or plastic wallets when retuning the documents but I've read people on here saying the put everything neatly in a folder referecing etc - anyone who's done this what did you do?

Thanks

Work experience is based on a full 30 hours work per week, so part time experience is pro rata. Because of this they need the number of hours worked so they can match it to the amount of experience you are claiming for.

If you don't need the points then it won't be important, and the way I read it was that you didn't need it stated for full time (just preferred).

You can also prove the number of hours other ways e.g. a copy of your contract or a wage slip showing hours etc. So you could include this evidence instead. If you don't have any proof for the full time posts, then I would just state on the covering letter full time and the number of hours contracted to work. Worst case scenario, NZIS could check with your reference or ask you to get the information later.

For the folders / plastic wallets, NZIS don't appreciate there use. Just collect the documents together and put a list of what you have supplied on the covering letter.

I just put mine in a neat pile and sent it off. Good luck!

We didn't use references for the full time ( we were claiming 10 year WE)
My husband just put in about 3 wage slips from the period that we were claiming for one at the beginning one for the middle and one for the end. He also enclosed a copy of his starting letter or contract and this was enough.

We also gave them everything in a pile ( or 2 piles because we gave them the originals and photocopies and handed them in to NZ House in London)

Good luck
