I am sure people with Degrees and have their EOI accepted, have received this email but for the people who have missed it.

Due to recent changes in the skilled migrant policy your Invitation to Apply may have been affected.
If you claimed bonus points for your qualification and work experience being in an area of absolute skills shortage then you would have been asked to supply an assessment from the New Zealand Qualifications Authority ("NZQA") assessing your qualification at Level 7 or higher with a major in computer science, information science or information technology.
Due to these recent changes it some cases it is no longer necessary to obtain this NZQA assessment.
If your qualification meets the following requirements then you may be able to submit your application without the NZQA assessment:
A) Your qualification is on the List of Recognised Qualifications; and
B) Your full academic transcript clearly shows that your MAJOR was one of the subjects listed above.
The List of Recognised Qualifications can be viewed on our website:
http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/stream/work/skilledmigrant/

Funny thing is that I just received my assessment back from NZQA and I am a few hundred punds lighter:wah . A shame I didn' receive this email earlier.

Cheers Ricky

hi! i'm currently in the process of gathering required documents to get international qualification assessment from nzqa. i finished bs computer science, and it's clearly stated from my diploma/transcript. also, the univ i attended is listed from nz immigration site.

however, when i received my ITA last month, i was asked to provide full nzqa assessment. when did you receive the email saying you don't need one? unfortunately, i havent received any notice. :(

send your case administrator or the genertal email address a scanned copy of your degree transcript showing subjects and marks etc.

i did this however since my computer science qualification is a post grad diploma it still had to be fully assessed but at least its a money saver for a few people

I receive the email November 26th and as RamblingPaddies said above just send a scan copy of your degree and your transcript to your case officer. It might save you some money:nice1

and I got hit in another way by this - my degree from 1976 was in engineering but I'm now qualified extensivly in Computer stuff and have been working in IT since 1984

but they threw out my EOI without a job offer and then I've had to take a job I don't want to get an ITA as my engineering degree isn't computer science, etc. Bit bitter about this as it's a very numerate degree

waiting for my NZQA as I also qualify in another 'hands-on' type of work to see if this ups my points again so that I can ditch this job I don't want and wait to get to NZ to get the job I do want.

ho hum - life is never easy - and NZIS seem to make up the rules as they go along

it seems the piece of paper is all important - working in IT for twenty years but have no formal degree ? - sorry, out you go ... not good enough

smacks of a place just following processes as opposed to examining the items on their merits - i mean X amount of years experience without a formal degree has to equal a bit of paper at some point on the scale ...

its just not real otherwise
