Hi peeps, long time no posting but I just don't have as much to say anymore :no

However my furniture has come home :clap :clap
It has literally travelled all around the world and back again and 1st impressions are thats its all ok!! It was lovely to see it arrive but I wasn't quite as giddy as when it pulled up the street in NZ but thats probabley because we don't have a house to put it in yet!

We used Crown on the return journey having used John masons on the way out, I have to say they have been fantastic (I know there is a thread on about someone gettin quotes and having had bad customer service from them in UK but I have no complaints atall). They sorted us out in 3days in NZ from me phoning to them driving off was 3days start to finish. It arrived within 1wk of its estimated date and we had 2 fab guys to offload it today. Bravo Crown!!!!

A quick update for the ones who remember us, dan is now working f/t with the police as a civvy until feb when he's back on the beat! Im working with my old nursey mates and havin interviews like hot dinners for perm employment. We will be looking at mortgages in Feb/March once dan back in the job and house prices are def levelling off here if not heading down a wee bit so hopefully we will be in a good position come spring to buy. The kids are great, really settled in well and we are enjoying the christmas spirit, cosy nights, open fires, xmas lights in the windows, its gives u a cosy feeling doesn't it :nice1

Take care to all my forum buddies
lots luv the Leachios xx

Glad to see you have settled in Amanda.

Just forwarning you in case. After the Euphoria of returning I felt a bit sad that my dream had gone if you know what I mean. We plan, plan, and plan for our new lives and mentally imagine (probably wrongly) what our new life might be like and then that scenario isn't lived out.

Best wished anyway on the house front.

Take care

Jo

Great to hear all is going well for you Amanda - I am a bit jealous of the thought of how Christmassy it must feel there. I'm not in the spirit at all here, although I'm enjoying the weather. Good luck with the job and house hunting .

Glad to hear all is going well!

Jo B - maybe a new dream is in order? I'm one of those people who constantly needs something new on the horizon, so I know how you feel!

We got a taste of Christmas while back in London we went ice skating at the Natural History Museum:

www.nhm.ac.uk/visit-us/whats-on/ice-rink-and-christmas-fair/ice-rink/

And got to see an amazing display at Covent Garden using a heliosphere:

www.coventgarden.uk.com/magazine/magazine.php?c0=2&ver=11&c_id=11n01

For those still over in London make sure you catch the later performance as it really is better in the dark.

Dream Engine: Heliosphere

Taking acrobatics to a higher level (literally) is this exciting performance art known as Heliosphere. A solitary performer is the pendulum for a giant globe of helium and using music, lighting and the Covent Garden Market backdrop, the Heliosphere creates the illusion of flying. Two ground crew (harnessed to lines but barely seen) control the balloon’s speed, direction and altitude. Working together, the three artists create an extraordinary aerobatic show over the heads of the audience.
On a calm day the aerial dancer can fly out of the sky and swoop low then soar from just overhead to 20 metres in the air in the blink of an eyelid.
But hang on to your hat, these playful helionauts have been known to swoop and carry off someone’s hat to the heavens. Heliosphere will be giving three magical shows every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 23 November until 23 December.

Still pleased to come back to the sunny evenings, it was getting dark at 4.30pm which really cut the day in half.

Cheers

Tia

I still remember that day. The poor removal man (Steve) didn't know where to put himself when you said in that lovely Scottish accent of yours "ooh I could kiss you". :laugh

Take care, hun. Enjoy the cold nights and the cosy fires. Me, i'm happy with the sunshine. :p
