My EOI got selected recently. During my EOI application I chose "A recognised qualification from a course taught entirely in English" for my english language requirement since my graduate course was in english english medium and i have also been in US for more than a year.

Being from India, Are the above factors sufficient to prove my english ability or do i need take the IETLS test.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Raj

NZIS,as always, have the final say, but they certainly do list tertiary education being from a course taught entirely in english as sufficient proof. It will probably depend on whether the institution is recognised by NZIS, and/or whether or not you can prove this to them. A year in the US is unlikely to be useful in itself.
I hope this helps.

Thank you Ourquest for your thoughts! One quick question : incase if the NZIS tell me to submit the IELTS certificate as a final proof, what time I would get to make it ready (because it takes a month to register, write and get the IELTS results in India)??

Will the NZIS give me enough time untill i get the IELTS result?

Since you have 4 months from receiving your ITA to having to submit it, this would give you the time. I am not sure how you wouldknow you had to, though. Perhaps your ITA covering letter mentions/will mention the need for the IELTS? I presume that if your case officer (once you've submtted ITA) requires something from you then it will cause a delay, but only until you have produced either the IELTS result or proof that you didn't need it. Obviously if you do have to sit the test it is very important that you pass it. I have no knowledge of the test but I bet many people on this forum have and there will be many old posts specific to it which you can find by doing a search.
