hi,
im new here, n my OH & i are in early stages of the immigration proccess. we are planning to go over on his SM visa as his job is on skills shortage, but as u need to put an empolyer in the EOI, i wondered how people manage to get employment this far in advance? coz from wot i understand the EOI is only the beginning of quite a lengthy proccess.

Does any one have any advice on finding an employer who would be willing to wait for months? this has really puzzled me??!!! ( along with the rest of the info!!LOL)

OK, I'm working backwards through your posts here. You can submit an EOI without a job offer, if you have enough points. You can get an offer by telephone if you are very unusual and desirable, but most people travel to NZ to land employment. Then their EOI journey begins. But if you have landed a job you could arrive on a work visa (permit) arranged specifically for that job. Then you would submit your EOI whilst already being able to take up employment. Then your later (answered/attempted earlier by me) questions regarding study permits etc becomes important. Best advice at this early stage is to study www.immigration.govt.nz , once you get used to the navigation everything is on there.
