hi,
Im hopmin someone can shed some light on this subject for me as i havnt seen any relevant info ANYWHERE!!!
I am hoping to move with my 3 kids - 9 yrs, 7yrs & 5yrs,
We will be coming over on my OH SM visa & i am unsure if i still need to apply for a student visa for the kids? or are they entitled to go to school on the SM visa?
Any info would be welcome!! :)

Can you be more specific about the visa...how long is it valid for, for example? It is fairly straightforward then to check on NZIS's website's policy document, if you know where to find the info. Will have a look...

If your OH is applying for a WTR or a PR then your children will be granted a student visa at the same time which they will need to go to school in NZ without having to pay international fees.

my OH is applying for a WTR visa, so hopefully that means the kids will be ok for starting school without the fees?
thanks for the info guys!:nice1

According to what I have been told by NZIS, your children need to have the Blue Student Visa stickers for them to study at school in NZ.
Normally NZIS issue all visas to a family at once though from memory separate application forms are needed.

You won't have international fees for attending school, but there are still some 'donations' that need to be made.

Depending which WTR visa you are getting, if it's the 2,5 year one, you need to apply for student visa for your children. Just attach the student application forms to your application instead of the visitor application forms!
