My husband sent off all his certificates last week for full assessment by NZQA. The problem is we have a deadline of Feb 4th to meet as when we received the ITA it stated that new policy is coming into effect on 4th Feb 08 that this will affect our ability to claim points as level 3 will no longer be recognised.

Having read many of the threads - we are rather worried about how long it takes for full assessment, even with the fast track option. I just wondered how long it has taken other people? or any advice on our situation!

I just recently had my degree and academic transcripts verified and it was quite a quick turnaround - a couple of weeks. :clap

If your application is quite involved, it could take a lot longer - whenever I went into the office to bother them about my application, the receptionist did warn me that they do have a lot of applications to process currently and there is a bit of a backlog so they are not necessarily hitting their target timeframes. I'd suggest that if you are on limited time, you pay the extra and get it fast tracked ...

same here - fasttrack turnround 12th nov and back last friday 7th dec.

I did not fast track, sent my application on October 6 and got it back today :)

I sent them everything, the originals and the true attested copies. But they told me that they have sent email to some one who will response and then they will go ahead. I was also told that the process will take longer even I paid fast-track fee. I don't know who they are going to contact, however it is for sure that they will keep me hanging for a while. My ITA deadline is March, so lets see what NZQA is actually doing and when will they finish assessment.

I am just forgetting every thing about INZ now...

Have you heard anything from NZQA? - we paid fastrack and still have not heard a thing, not even to say our file has been assigned to an evaluator. I know cases vary but just wondered how long people are generally waiting for their assessment back. ta x

Am I right in saying that you heard nothing from NZQA all these time, and the next thing you know is that you received the documents back via courier?

I had my documents sent about a week after you did, and did not take up on the fast track option. I've sent them a total of two emails now over the last month to request a confirmation that my documents have been received, each time receiving the reply that the appropriate unit has been notified and will get back to me. They never did. I do however see that the amount has been charged to my card on 20th December.

I hope that my application is being looked into, and not left on someone's desk and that someone happen to have left the organisation (as so it seemed to have happened to several forum members here with NZIS).

Yes, that is exactly what happened, the funds were debited back in December but we didn't receive any confirmation. I then emailed the office and they informed me that although we paid for fast track they were experiencing delays and that it was unlikely that our documents would be back to us in time to make our deadline in February and then..... to our amazement they all arrived in the post! Work that one out... not that I am complaining though! Best of luck and hope you get a package soon!

i've had a few emails - only after i initiated them though ...

send in NZQA material on 19th November 07 - fast track - nothing yet

missed my first ITA deadline - got an extension - won't get another one - do you think they care ?

i think i was a bit lucky here, they got my papers jan 10 (billed my credit card, jan 10 as well).. and i got the report back yesterday afternoon. so 13 working days total. did the fast track option even though my deadline is not until end of march as i was scared from people here reporting about the delays...

Hi , we sent my wifes qualifications out in early december they have recieved them and taken payment but when I call them up they always say they are waiting for someone to become available to process them!
Im not sure if we did fasttrack or not whats the price difference for with and without fasttrack??

I think the fast track fee is NZD 150.

My application was sent middle of December, and about a week ago I received an email confirmation with a case reference number. I suppose that's good news...

the two main departments we deal with - the NZQa and the NZIS are so hit and miss with who you get - contrast Yossarians good luck with me - still waiting on NZQA having sent the papers on November 9th 07 (fastrack) ... i've already missed one deadline because of them - I wont get another ...

Did you get any confirmation at all (such as an email confirmation with your case reference number) from NZQA? It might be worth emailing them to check, and highlight the situation that you've been given an extension by NZIS because of their delay and you won't receive another.

I'm putting my medical checks on hold for the moment because I'm never sure when I'll get back my NZQA assessment and medical reports are only valid for three months.
