Hi Everyone,
Probably a silly question, but for those that have already submitted their application (final application after ITA) how did you send it? Just wandering the safest way to send mine in (other than actually delivering it myself), hopefully next week. :hopeso
Chers,

i'm having a heart attack over royal mail. if you can believe it a gift bought dec 6 has been lost in the parcelforce system. its a big ticket item so you'd think they would show a little concern but they are on another planet. i wouldn't send anything important with them. spend a few quid and spare yourself the game of russian roulette

That's how we we'd planned to send it, but after our daughter working in the sorting office over Christmas I got a bit nervous!!
Thanks, I just hope Royal Mail don't try to make me one of the bad statistics!! :hopeso

OK, just read Leslie's post, that's exactly the type of thing I was worried about. What are my alternatives? Has anyone ever used DHL etc. for a personal delivery?

I always went with post office next day by 9am guarenteed, however I was told go for the by midday service which is cheaper and is normally delivered by 9am anyway. You can also track this on the internet. In total I spent hundred pound on postage, remember what weight you send up include a self addressed paid envelope to send it back.

5kg of paperwork next day delivery the bag to send it back was 17 pound in stamps. I sent initial app, then more paperwork, then nzqa, then 5kgs to london, Still cheaper than travelling to london.

I'm tempted to cough up the money and pay for FedEx or UPS. If we're talking personal information, I want to be SURE it arrives at the destination. (I'll go back to wearing my tin foil hat thank you).

I worked for the post office a few years back, normal mail can get lost. Recoded delivery can get lost. Special delivery does not get lost. Ever.

oh good. special delivery doesn't get lost. i guess that means my vintage cartier ring will show up one day despite the impression i, and the german shopowner, are getting. maybe it will be like one of those library books and land on (my) doorstep in 120 years give or take a day.
i am never, ever going to post anything serious using royal mail. they already delivered my degree translation in dire condition, 2 months after it was postmarked. 5 years ago i thought it one of the worlds best services. you guys have far more faith than me.

I took mine in by hand but had all the docs & stamped passports sent back by Royal Mail Special Delivery which was with us next day all present & correct.

I'm with CloudBoy - FedEx for the Application!! I definitely don't trust the USPS.
In fact, if the ITA was sent via the US Post Office, it could be weeks before I get it. :?

Sarahw - did you arrange an appointment to take the docs & application in....or just turn up?
Got ITA this morning and have all the docs ready, so want to submit it next week and have the option (ignoring expense!) of training it down to London for the day

I let my case officer know I'd be coming but didn't arrange an appointment as such (just left her a voicemail). Turned up & within 5 mins she came out to see me and went through all the documentation (and had a really good chat). Within 5 days we had residency but I think that's more to do with Ian's company's talent accreditation than me taking them there by hand.
I would, however, recommend training it down if you can (just try and get there early so you don't have to sit in a queue).

I sent my NZQA thru DHL - didn't have any problem. NZQA as well as NZIS send documents to me also thru DHL. I guess it's safe.
