and its "lets not wrap people in cotton wool attitude"!
what activity did we do today at my offsite team building day ???....
axe - throwing!
yep.. double headed axes that you just hold high over your head (gripping firmly) and hurl as hard as you can to try and lodge them in a wooden target. We did have to wear hard hats, but I wasn't entirely convinced how much that would help unless the axe landed on your head..fantastic fun though.
all of a sudden, those corporate team buildings in the UK seem to be very tame and dull in comparison...:D

Only in New Zealand!
Overheard at school last week
10 yr old pupil: Mrs R, my ball's gone on the roof- can I climb up and get it?
Principal (Mrs R): Do you know how to do it without injuring yourself?
Girl: Yes
Principal: Go on then
:)
I carried on laminating to the sound of her wee feet pattering across the tin roof
:)

Tuesday night get together of 3 couples + a few kids and dogs....
Fish and Chips and a game of cards or 3.
And for "lives" we had sour snakes that we had to eat when we were out.
Fun.
:-)
P.S. Jan (Brian's wife re Brijan) beat Brian for the first time ever.
However....Brian IS a super hero this week after putting a fire out on his street with his 10+ yr old fire extinguisher (BEFORE the fire brigade got there!!)
Go that man. :L
Maybe next week we could do the whole axe throwing thing.... lol
Ahhh New Zealand eh?

I keep meaning to get a photo of the "flying fox" for kids in the playground in One Tree Hill. I can't imagine anything like that in the UK, never mind the US.
The kids love it of course!

:laugh That sounds excellent Pip, certainly builds trust up between colleagues !
My middle one had to be picked up from school last week because she'd fallen off the monkey bars, she's got the biggest, blackest eye I had ever seen. I was really worried that they wouldn't let the youngest kids back on the big kids playground, but all the teachers and principal said was 'she'll learn' ! ! ! Could just imagine back in the UK all kids would probably be banned and the monkey bars deemed a danger to kids :roll
