The Orthopaedic report on OH's leg has arrived and is presumably with the CO(although she isn't replying to my e-mails). How long does the Medical Assessment take? We have justover three weeks before we fly and there's that Christmas thing shoved right in the middle there.
Sadly Mum slipped away peacefully last week. We didn't ever tell her we were going for good. She liked the idea of us going on a long cricket tour and so we left it like that. After many, many years of ill-health it was a relief come the end. I like, so many others on here, was so worried about what would happen 'if'. Well it has, and she can come with us in our hearts now.

Can't help with the CO thing really, except to say why don't you call them. Make up some blah blah excuse about being worried xmas being in the way or your concerned that your emails aren't getting through.
I can understand the relief you must feel. ((((Big Hugs)))) How lovely you can carry Mum in your hearts to your new life.

Call your CO- can't do any harm I suppose.
I'm so sorry your mum died, but am glad it was peaceful and that you were still in the UK. (((((lockstock)))))

At least you know that her last days with you were not full of tension and were relaxed & peaceful. You will be able to take happy memories with you. Thinking of you at this time.

What a hugely emotional time you must be going through right now. Thinking of you and hoping everything works out OK and that you still manage to enjoy 'that Christmas thing' in the middle of everything.

Hi there Gilly
I would give your CO a quick call. I wouldn't make any excuses I would just tell her your concerns and that you have your flights booked because you need to have time to settle in before you start your new job.
I'm sorry to hear about your mum. It's always difficult when someone dies who has been ill for a long time but you can feel comfort in that she wished you well and you can carry that with you through the next stage of your life.
BTW have you managed to find a rental yet?
Take care
Paula
