Need help please - so far we have been through the form twice still dont seem to get the points for having recognised qualifications.
The job is on the OSL list but cant find that on the EOI either so again no points! Only the POL is there i have double checked. Phoned immigration office last night and got no further guy
Would i be better to get a job offer to go with the OSL skill of Heavy
Vehicle Driver since it seems to ignore the fact i have HNC's in recognised areas?
We will get there in the end i hope!
regards

I think the answer is yes - but you could have your qualifications assessed by the NZQA (I don't know what they'd assign for HGV though) - they usually assign you a grade that your qualification/experience meets to get points but you have to submit quite a bit of proof.
I must admit we didn't bother with that way - Ian had a HNC in a subject which didn't appear on the selected list so he got a job in an OSL & we had enough points without the qualification...

Took me ages to do the form, but sorry I found all my stuff, but when I had a question I used the online help facility to email a question, they replied really quickly (taking into account the time change).
Try that, the answers have been clear and concise.
Good luck

Hi
Just thought that I should paste this for your info

The Priority Occupations List (POL) has been renamed the Long Term Skill Shortage List and the Occupational Shortage List (OSL) has been renamed the Immediate Skill Shortage List. The names have been changed to better reflect the purpose of each list.
To ensure clarity, for a limited time, we will continue to also state the former names (POL and OSL) when we refer to the Long Term Skill Shortage List and the Immediate Skill Shortage List.

I was able to view the LTS and ISS list by going to the home page of NZIS web site
select ' i want to be a skilled migrant ' in the window and press go
You will be taken to another web page and under the bar called TOOLBOX
you will see links to the list .
cheers
Abdul
