Hi Just a quickie...
I have a vodafone mobile and my credit has ran out..do you just buy the cards from the shop and do the same as in the uk? I heard something about doing it online, or something about texting somewhere for credit??
Probably really simple!

There's a couple of ways that we do ours,
We go to any shop that is offering top ups and you get a chitty with a number on to text, the instructions are on the chitty
and we can also do it at ASB atm's, I can even top up clare's for her without her being there.

You can top up here (https://www.vodafone.co.nz/knox/login_handler.jsp?template=myvodafone) as well. (I've now put the right link in!)
You have to register, but when you do you get $10 free credit.

Its so easy to do here, you can register a credit card and do it from your phone, or there is a hotlink system too (if your bank/phone supports it) it takes it straight from your bank account, all the local shops seem to do it too, and they just print out a coupon and you key in the code from it. Online and at cashpoints, easy peasy!

Did you see the offer that vodafone has where you can phone any UK landline for up to 60mins for $2 ? I find it useful as don't have a landline.
If you have a prepay phone you can do it; you dion't need to set anything up, just ring the number - there are other countries in the offer as well - they'll probably all be on the website or I think if you dial 502 from your phone.

Jo jo, I finally decided to do register and top up online after getting the chitties from the PO for nearly 2 years (mainly because of the $10 offer). That was 2 weeks ago and it still hasn't been credited. Was yours instant? I like getting something for nothing but not when I end up getting nothing iykwim. I also thought it was funny when I had to fill out hobbies on the profile to register. I was looking for 'cooking' and 'reading' amongst the huge lists of sports and extreme sports. Decided to add running (well at least it's something vaguely energetic) as I do go jogging, but even that wasn't a hobby in itself. It was running/triathalon! Only in New Zealand....

I found I had to update my profile a couple of times for the credit to work, dunno why, but when it did work it was instant... strange huh?

We had to go through the signup about 50 zillion times to get the $10.
Their system was goofed up with 'no estimated repair time', 'just keep trying'.
I think it came to about 2 cents an hour in wages for our effort by the time Christine and I both finally got our credit.
...but then, it was good cause to pour a couple glasses of wine to celebrate!
:cheers

You don't have to. In fact its best not to, to reduce your online profile. Just leave pages like this blank. The computer will think you are boring, but won't tell anyone, and nobody else will read it.
In fact in general don't give out any information that the company receiving it doesn't need.
Of course, it is quite fun creating an online alter ego and seeing how the junk mail you get changes.:)
