Much as I hold my breath each time I log onto NZIS and check (not quite hourly!) I am still at "selected" (Sept. 1, 105 points, but submitted back on Feb. 4, 2004, so I agonized a long time while waiting for the points to drop too!). I looked at my app again and noticed that almost every other word I say about my career background is that it is in a recognized 'future growth area'. I haven't seen anyone write about that. Anyone claiming 'future growth area' been contacted/have ITA yet?
Thanks, and best wishes to all that have been blessed with "Decision Successful"...and beyond!
:cool

I see a lot of people are looking at this, but no replies? Bumping back up.

SoCal Gal,
I know what you mean re. Future Growth. I started a thread a bit like this a while ago. Spookily (well, almost spookily), I sent you a PM yesterday asking almost exactly the same thing 'cos we are in the same boat as you... but my PM did not get sent somehow when I checked my Sent box. Probably my fault.

What intrigues me is that FGAs didn't get extra point boosters on Dec. 13th enhancements. That's fine: OSL and POL are their prioities right now. But even so, is it an advantage to be in an FGA career? There is certainly space to record the fact on the EOI, even though no extra points. Also, sorry if I'm wrong (likely!) but on that little Word-style table of point allocations that NZIS provides, it does sort of suggest that any applicant with experience in an FGA gets extra points, but looking at their other writing it seems that this is only so if the experience is in NZ or if you have an NZ-gained FGA qualification.

One more thing: didn't one of the summaries of the December enhancemnts that said something about being allowed to grant upfront PR to really strong candidates with no job, give FG candidates as an example along with POL candidates?? I'm fairly sure I read that but - again - could well be wrong.

We are still Selected (Oct. 27th from Pool).

Cheers,
Matt.

Hi MB, thanks for the update, even though it adds to the questions. Yikes.
I'll hop over to your PM and chat there...

Some news! I logged on today and we are now Decision Successful.
FYI, we are Future Growth but not what used to be called POL/OSL. Selected Oct. 27th.
I'll change the new table in Lounge with these details. :nice1

Cheers,
Matt.

Wow! Thanks, SoCal Gal. And if anyone wonders what we're on about re. this thread, FGA candidates don't seem to attract any extra points unless they have a job (offer) in a FGA and/or NZ quals./NZ experience in an FGA.
That's fine, if we're correct. But we're puzzling over whether FGA folks not in those categories are notable in any way -- as far as NZIS is concerned -- aside from concrete points.

Erm, do I make sense? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Cheers,
Matt.
