Help,help,help

Dave and I had never considered applying through EOI for PR because he is over the maximum age limit and he is the one with the brains and matching quals and the job.

Then, with the points dropping so rapidly, I considered my own little banking qualification and started to think maybe..........

I did on online EOI with me as the primary applicant as I am under the max. age limit and we got 105 points. Wow. I had put my qual as level 4 just as a guess. When I saw the points level I thought I would get a prelim. assessment of my qual. and they've replied at Level 5 - even more Wow. :eek

Dave, as secondary applicant, gets 20 points for his work experience in NZ of 4 months and his qual level. What I was wondering is - do you think these points may be discounted because of his age. Would they have been discounted on the on-line EOI if this is the case or not.

Should I just stop annoying everybody on the forum and call NZIS direct???? I'll do that - must search for the tel number now. I'm so excited - we may not have to go LTBV after all. :clap

Please, please reply if you have prior experience of the age thing.

We came over on me because Pete was over the age and as I was accepted on the LTBV he automatically got a work visa. so on that basis I would assume that the partner on the normal visa would too. Go for it.

Just what I needed - encouragement. I'll call them tomorrow and if they say the 20 points are valid I'll submit an EOI half an hour after I land at Palmy.

Whoopee.

PB - where are you exactly?

Yep, not long!! And we need to get another bottle of champers ordered for your EOI success - what a shame.

Hmmm, is navigating Auckland airport for our onward journey to Chch drunk advisable?!! :laugh :laugh

We always have a few beers in the domestic terminal bar to celebrate. And you can smoke in there. And there's a relatively quiet toilet opposite where you can get a decent wash.

I was perhaps too enthusiastic on the strip-wash front last time ("Mary there's a naked drunk pom in the dunny"). Maybe wash first beer after.

Anyhow the flight to Chch just, well, flies by.

Cheers.

The man from Del Monte - he say yeeeeeeessssss. :clap :clap :clap

Whoopee. I can claim Dave's points. Took a while for them to decide though - girl on the help desk went away twice to check then put me through to somebody else, maybe a supervisor, and she confirmed that the points are valid.

Where's a dancing banana when you need one.

Thanks everybody for your good wishes.

Now I'm wondering if I should submit the EOI before I go. Finished work today and only 11 days before I fly out - or should I wait till I get there. What if they put the points up again - do any of you gurus think they will :eek I'm guessing not, but they may want to deal with the last flood of applications from the pool and so give themselves a bit of a breather by increasing the points a bit.

It would be easier to wait until I'm there as I already have so much to do next week getting ready to flee the old UK plus it will be easier to submit the documentation to NZQA etc.
