Are there any other people out there who made the long move to NZ this year only to find yourself alone or far from family overseas for this Xmas?

If yes, I am in the same boat. I live in Island Bay and was wondering if anyone wanted to meet up over the 5 day Xmas weekend for a BBQ and/or a day at the beach? Lyall Bay? :cheers
