:D After what seemed like months, suddenly everything is happening very quickly. I wasn't getting anywhere with finding a job and then suddenly I've got one that's actually better than what I'm doing in the UK. Our residency seemed to have stalled on medical issues - and then it's all been approved last week. We didn't know where to live - and now I've got a good job, it's made up our minds and New Plymouth sounds better in some ways than both Wellington and Christchurch.
Plane tickets booked, guinea pigs shipped off to relatives, attic cleared out.
We now head off on January 7th and arrive in New Plymouth at about 5pm on January 10th. :raebanana
Still got loads to do - but now we know we're finally going it's such a relief.
Advice to applicants - hang on in there as it will come good eventually.:cheers

Just wanted to say well done, but as far as NP is concerned only visited once and it seemed an ok place to be. We have friends down there and ever since they landed in town they have never thought of moving on.

Good luck with the last few weeks.
