Hi, folks.

I've just arrived back to Welly this evening after 8 days away. I went to Pittsburgh, PA for my oldest daughter's university graduation and to pack up her things and bring her here to live in NZ with us. I've literally been half way around the world and back again these last 8 days. :uhoh

And OH tells me that I have a telephone interview at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning with an employer keen on interviewing me ASAP

Oh, geeze...Talk about bad timing...but I'm excited at the same time.

I'm off to bed now and hope I wake up clear headed. I'll get up early and prepare some notes. I can't even think straight right now after being in transit for the last 27 hours!! :wah

...A few good thoughts my way, please ;)

I've been dancing and skipping around the house since noon!

I can't believe it! I want to share the details but I can't yet. The person in charge of the interview said he wanted me to have a good holiday and to know that I will receive an official job offer in the mail soon, but in the meantime to rest easy because they were all very impressed that I'm a "teacher first and an academic second."

I'm just bursting at the seams...and best of all, he said there's room for advancement from part time to full time.

Yiiiiippppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I'm so shocked because it ended up being a four panel interview...I was too jetlagged to be nervous, but I felt that while I answered some questions really well, there were at least two that I just fumbled my way through (suddenly I couldn't articulate my way out of a paper bag). Before we hung up they said they had more interviews to do but would get back to me soon. I just couldn't get a feel for anything, so I was surprised when I got another call three hours later giving me the news....

Thank you for the good vibes! It worked!

:clap

Since I haven't received the "official offer," I feel I should sit on the info.
Sorry!! I'll give details as soon as I can!

The second call I got was to tell me I would be receiving the offer in the mail, but as this might be after the holiday, this interviewer wanted me to have a merry christmas knowing the offer is on it's way. Normally, I would not have received such a call. So, I'm happy he was kind enough to let me in on the news! :D

:cheers

Thank you! I've been walking around for two days saying randomly, "Wow...I got the job!! I can't believe I got the job!" :D

OH said, "You think you're smart because you are the only employed one in the family now, huh?"

So I've told him, "Pressure's on! You won't be a 'kept man' for long since it's only half time work!" :p :laugh

It does really feel wonderful to have this hurdle jumped. I've only applied for 10 jobs, but truthfully, with each rejection I started feeling that maybe being American and not having NZ experience would make it really difficult.

Whheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwh. Big sigh of relief!
