Hi,

I have had the same camera for approx a year, its usually great, works fine, I use the USB cable to download pics...usually no probs.

A couple of weeks ago it was a bit hit and miss, some times it would let me download and other times it won't...now it just wont do it! I put the usb cable in, it bleeps to kind of register ( sorry..noth that technical)..and then USUALLY a box coes up asking if I want to copy pics....andnothing shows up...I have 300 photos on the camera and I am panicking slightly!

I don't know whether it is the USB cable, the computer, the camera...ive even tried a different sim card in camera today to see if that works...and nothing.....

Anyone out there that has any ideas what may be wrong?? If camera has packed in...which I find hard to believe as it works fine...is there any way I can put all pics on memory card onto my computer??

Am I making sense?!?

Help

Just go to an electrical store and buy a usb card reader that takes the memory card from your camera. I had to do that with mine.

Yup sounds like the best option, do you know the type of card your camera takes? Else what is your camera model number?

Price depends on which card etc or how flash a model you want, but they start from about $25 i would guess?

Something like this would do it... (but confirm your type of card first)

If you look under "My Computer" when the camera is plugged in does it show up that you have a removable drive ? If it does you can just double click the camera open that way and drag your files across without having to use the pop up file manager box thingy (I hate that tool!)

Either that or a card reader, they are not that expensive, and if you take your camera and card into somewhere like Dick Smith, they should be able to tell you which one you need.

Yup yours would be SD/MMC card type: $17.50
