Hiya,
can anyone confirm how long you have from being 'approved in principal' to sending off your passport to get your PR stamp. I'd heard somewhere that you had 4 months to get your passport stamped and pay your migrant levy.
Thanks

I also heard 4 months.
Although when we got our AIP the other day, they didn't send our passports back, they just told us that our passports had been sent to have the visas issued in them. No choice in the matter.

When my PR was granted I was told that I have 6 months in which to pay the migrant levy and get the passports stamped.

Before we had our PR in principle confirmed, our case officer told us (on more than one occaision) that there was a period of 4 months to get the migrant levy paid and the visa stamps issued.
Therefore, if the house had been sold we worked out a timeframe and even got long reservations on flights etc.
BBBBUUUUTTTT, now the case officer (same one) is saying verbally and in writing that we have 6 months to pay the migrant levy and a further 12 months on top of that time to enter NZ = 18 months in total if you need it.
All a bit confusing, all I can think is the 4 month period referred to the return of the ITA documentation, as overall our case officer was a total gem, and was more than happy to speak to us on the phone as needed.
