I am putting the final touches to my EOI and I have hit a snag with the online form. I am filling the address of my employer in and there are a few lines for the address - these are street number, street name (2 lines), suburb then city. Apparently street name & city can not be more than 29 characters in length. As I have a job at Chch hospital I have put Christchurch Hospital in street name & Christchurch in city. But these are too long. There is also a private bag number - could I use this in the street name line? This is sooo frustrating - this is the last hurdle before I submit the form.:wah

The problem I am having with the form is that the line I put Christchurch Hospital is the first address line and then the city I put as Christchurch. On the form it comes back with an error saying that these 2 lines must have no more than 29 characters and won't let me submit it as it is. What did you put? I feel I am chasing my tail here.

I have just had a thought - I have put Canterbury DHB as the name of the organisation - did you put that or Christchurch Hospital in that space? This could be a way round it. But the hospital is not the name of the organisation.

Their online form isn't very flexible is it? :(
Can you abbreviate Christchurch to Ch'Ch?

I have considered that. Not sure if they would accept it. I could try.

What about shortening Hospital to Hosp.

We had the same problem with ours and we just shortened to recognised abbreviations

We cant remember it beiing a great problem but suggest you go with CDHB as your employer and then you might be ok to use Christchurch in full .

Sorry but cant be much more help.

Thanks for the help & suggestions. I think I will try shortening Hospital to Hosp. This should just fit and it is obvious what it stands for. :nice1
