Sorry to post such a specific question, but does anyone know where I can find the times for high and low tides in the Tamaki Estuary? Somewhere on the net? Tried to google it, but didn't seem to find anything.
I can actually see it from my house, but I would like to be a bit more prepared when taking the girls down the road and promise a beach afternoon WITH water...
Helpful hints appreciated :)
Thanks,
Daniela

Try at Auckland Weather (http://www.metservice.co.nz/default/index.php?alias=auckland), if you scroll down it shows you all the tides around Auckland

Bro?
I think currently the estuary, at least at Point England where the water quality is measured, is considered safe, like most other Auckland beaches. Not sure if 'safe' means 'clean'...
I believe the water quality has changed and is still changing in the Tamaki estuary (some drainage issues?). I certainly wouldn't recommend to drink it :)

Perhaps your local council website has a site like this on Chch's Ecan?

Found the site below for Auckland but not sure if it covers the beaches you mention as I don't know the area... http://www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/council/documents/safeswim/map.asp
