Doesn't time fly when you are having fun!! So what have we been upto since we arrived???
Stayed in Auckland for a week..won't bore you with everything we did there as I have already done that I think!!
Drove to Hawkes Bay and Graham started his job, he has been there for 3 weeks and has 2 weeks off over xmas...his employers are beyond nice and generous...they can't do enough for us...we had a huge beautiful hamper for Chrimbo and Graham got a large bonus...he felt uncomfortable taking it but his employer insisted and said he is looking forward to working with him in the new year...they also got him a fishing stool...New Hobby!!
I have filled out app form, done heaps of revision for interview, got job and start in January.
Rented a house out which we are settled in.
Sorted the usuals like phone, electric broadband la la la
G purchased a fishing rod and haven't seen him since! Also Body boards he he!
We have started to buy bits and bobs to settle more....such as some lovely garden furniture and a BBQ we could sleep in!
Met up with a couple of people off the forum which has been great and met some other friends also.
Been on countless walks including stunning beaches, hills, birds, waterfalls, lakes, streams, woods...etc etc etc.
Life is great at the minute we seem to be settling well, we wake up each morning and the sun is shining and the beach is over the road! We have done more in the last 6 weeks than we would have ever of done back in UK...bodyboarding, kayaking...we''re off to get some camping gear when I start earning!!
Downsides have been....I have been lonely before Chrimbo whilst Graham has been at work...understandable! Shopping not too good...no probs got a container of stuff coming...and MISSING FAMILY...Christmas Day was the worst, and I seem to be avoiding all soppy songs as they just set me off...nothing that can be done about this I just hope I can try and get used to the way I feel because I am sure it won't go away.
The leap over here was absolutely nerve wracking, but I can honestly say it is well worth all the worry, upset, anguish and stress leading up to it...as when you get here...its fab!!!! ( so far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!):D
J xx
PS- I would put G's initials on........but he is on the beach fishing........I wouldn't mind if he came home with fish:D
