Hi guys,

We have a deadline for our ITA of Feb 4th. However, we have not received our full assessment back from the NZQA, infact I don't think they have even begun as yet, what with the Christmas shutdown. Basically, I don't think we have a chance in hell of making this deadline, which is really annoying as everything else is ready to go! I just wondered if anyone else had managed to get their deadline extended?

jo - thats such a coincidence

out deadline is 4th feb too and as yet, we've had nothing back from nzqa except to say they've received it. we were holding off on medicals in case we didnt get the level needed ... they did mention they had to get something extra checked ???

and so we booked the medicals because we'd miss the ITA if we didnt and now face missing the deadline anyway because the wonderful irish medical system takes 25 days to process bloodtests ...

but in the meantime i got a job offer so that minimizes the need for the nzqa level so am going to apply for a temporary work permit and let the PR trundle along in the background ...

You may not need to get the ITA itself extended, I believe that you can submit your ITA and put in the covering letter that you haven't yet received the NZQA assessment which you will forward on as soon as you receive it. This will allow them to process the rest of the application whilst waiting (who knows if they actually will though?)

thanks for that ian - it will be the medical results that will delay us. the irish health system is appalling ...
it will take over 3 weeks to get blood tests results and we do the medical on january 15th .... we were holdiing off doing them until we knew the nzqa level was right but that too didnt happen

Just been re-checking the application for residence guide.

Although, I am correct in saying the you can provide additional information or documents after you submit your application, I would advise you check with NZIS yourself for your specific situation unless someone else knows the specific answers?

Certain documents / information must be supplied at the time that you lodge your application (lodgement requirements), if they are not provided then your application can not be accepted for consideration.

The lodgement requirements should have been fully listed in your ITA.

Hi. It might be worth just asking NZIS to defer your ITA deadline for a couple of months, it doesn't cost anything... and they might just say yes... :) They did with us.

NZIS informed me that even if I could not get full NZQA, I may submit the ITA with a prove that I have already applied to NZQA. In my case, NZQA assigned me file no and the send me the acknowledgment letter as well. You should directly contact your case officer and know his/her opinion.
Deadline is not a difficult matter as all.

Hello Syed,
In relation to this, (we are on the same boat, by the way)i emailed the NZIS and her the same situation (no report yet from NZQA) and time is running. i asked if i could just specify in the cover leter that ASSESSMENT REPORT to follow. However, reply was: lodge appplication will be decline without it (IAN is right!), and the advise to me was: inform them at least 2-weeks before the lodgement deadline (mine is Mar.2, 2008) if i have'nt recieve my NZQA report. Don't waste your lodgement fee. well, that's just my two-cent worth of thought. in fact, i am thinking now if it's right to do medical exam w/o knowing the result of the NZQA. Can anybody share idea about this kind of situation, please? Ian, can i have your recommendation in this case?

We had our deadline extended twice. NZIS were very helpful. What they definitely wouldn't do was let us submit an incomplete application

Hi Jo,
We had the same problem, sent forms off to NZQA end of Aug, finally received back 5th Dec 07. (I rang them up every other week - just got told in system)

Our ITA had to be back on the 4 December, I email them, telling them the problem I had and I got a three month extention. (4 March)

Any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch

Regards
Karen
