Cindy,

You should be scared. The sooner you can get out the better.
Even if this guy is over doing it will still be bad.
I am taking myself and my kids to NZ.
They will not be a part of this government.

Good luck.

A problem that is duplicated in other countries too. Unfortunately, there isn't enough cake to go round in the current economic model, with too many having way too much, and too many having way too little.
And population growth is outstripping deaths as we live longer.
Maybe Dubyas next mad crusade could be mass covert sterilisation programmes to the third world, he likes to pick on those people doesn't he :)

Things are same every where (not sure of NZ).
The current economic model is based one interest concept, which is very dangerous model. In this model, poor will be poorer and rich more richer.
Any place on this earth with inequality will be a hell, when rich people collect all wealth and sell it back on much higher prices.
Our own spending beyond our limits and lack of sharing common resources and specially when people just live his/her whole life to pay credit card debits (mortgage etc) is ultimately the end of happy life.
Are we going to learn anything positive from this post and video ?
The answer should be YEEEEEEESSSS

The problem exists in virtually the whole western world.

Thats why you have seen so many changes to the pension system in the UK, and pressure for retirement ages to increase (again UK).

..... however if people don't retire so early does the problem still exist? After all the source of the problem is an ageing (retired) population who are living longer; if we live longer do we really need to retire so early?

A problem with no easy answer that most of the world is trying to grapple with. Is NZ any different - I have no idea!
