Hello kindred spirits! We are an American woman (Lindsay) and an Englishman (Gareth) living in the southern Arizona desert and planning to move to NZ just as soon as they'll have us. We submitted our EOI last month, and now we wait.... the waiting part is hard.
This forum is fantastic - how great to read the stories of so many people like us who visited NZ and decided "this is where I belong!" We visited in November 2006 and have a second trip planned for May. This upcoming trip will be a sort of reconnaissance mission to figure out where we'd like to settle. Dunedin, Nelson, and New Plymouth are in our top three slots at the moment, but our itinerary is in constant flux. We are very attracted to the South Island, but we have some family in Auckland, so there is a pull in that direction as well.

Welcome to the forum. I am from the States and I too fell in love with NZ and am immigrating there as soon as all the paperwork comes back. My daughters and I will be heading to Tauranga. I have a job offer there. The waiting is the tough part.

Hello Lindsay...We are in the States also...I am a New Zealander and my husband is a native born Texan...We are presently getting the paperwork together for my husband's PR and will be back in New Zealand as soon as we can in 2008.
