We're about to submit our EOI and I have a question about recognised qualfications which the policy manual doesn't seem to cover.
Basically, my husband sent off his certificates to NZQA for assessment - they came back with a 'combined assessment of level 6'. Does that mean we can only claim points for last couple of qualifications he gained and not the preceeding ones? As they don't seem to be on the 'list' and they were not individually assessed. Or shall we just put the lot in just to cover our bases?
Thanks in advance for any help with this!

Hi Twig, I'm not sure I understand your question. The NZQA assessment shows a combined level 6, which is what the qualification on the whole (all aspects considered) is assessed as being equivalent to. Ultimately you can only claim 50 or 55 points for one qualification, and it would be the one which relates to your (his) work experience?
Once you have the assessment why would you want to "cover all bases"? Perhaps with a bit more info it will become clearer what you are requiring.

I wanted to know whether I should list all qualifications on the EOI (even though they are not recognised and/or assessed)? But to be honest, if we get 50/55 points for the level 6 qualification, it seems unnecessary to list any 'lower' ones.
Thanks anyway :nice1

Hi Twig
If there is room on the EOI to do so, perhaps there is no harm in putting the others in. As long as the assessed one(s) is the one you wish to claim points for because it is the one relevant to a "skills shortage" and/or the work experience for which you will also be claiming points. Since the NZQA is the assessing authority it sounds like you are totally in control!
I hope my response helped and didn't add to your confusion. :)
