Kia ora everyone. Just a quick hola to all those people on the board who have either made the move or are about to take the plunge into middle earth.
I did a bit of travelling myself and have seen some wonderful and not so wonderful things, but I must say this world has so much to offer.
For most New Zealanders living away its food that they miss the most and Im looking forward to munching on Kina, rotten corn and good old fish & chips (actually rotten corn is nasty..so I wont go there)..
I miss the kiwi humour and Im sure some of you have had a little taste of it..they just love pulling your leg....Im gonna get mine dont you worry..speaking maori with a Welsh accent aint gonna be easy..but what comes around goes around..Im sure some of you are apprehensive about everything...the fear of the unknown,security,family..I have my doubts too.
But what I can say is...living in the UK has been an eye opener and if you can live there..you can live anywhere...its a hard country to live in if you dont have a network of friends & family or the right job to pay those ever demanding stealth taxes the government places on you.
I count myself as an adopted welshmen (The locals say so) and my home has been Wales for the last 17yrs...Ive learnt the language and the culture of the UK and I have profited from its wealth...but my birth place is Aotearoa...
Its time for me to open another chapter in my life and to head home...the grass was always greener for me in Wales being from South Auckland..but NZ is not the land of milk & honey..its a place where you can slow down a little bit and let the world catch up to you.....
