We applied a permit for my partner last year but now plan to go overseas for holiday. Is it easy to get a work visa now so he can re-enter the country? Do we have to submit all the requirements for a work visa/permit again? How long should it take? Thanks in advance. :)

I was able to get my visa in 20 minutes by visiting NZIS offices at 142-146 Wakefield Street in Wellington. Turned up at 8am and was first in the queue. I already had a 2 yr permit but needed a visa to travel for work. I took a completed NZ1015 form in and medical certs & police checks were still valid so it was very quick and cost $200.

It may depend on when your work permit was originally granted as to whether NZIS will want further police checks/medicals. Worth checking with them.
