I've just submitted my EOI and am thinking either Wellington or Tauranga.
I work for a digital agency in London doing front-end web development, user experience, SEO etc. I have four years public sector experience which should stand me in good stead for Wellington (plus four years private sector), but through looking on the NZ job boards I haven't found any roles with the kind of scope I'm looking for (lots of developers and project managers, not much in the way of SEO / UXP work). I hear the Welly web scene is quite close-knit so I'm contacting some of the bloggers I've found (how did people manage this research without the web?)
So I was thinking of Tauranga to be near my dad (and his rental property ;)). I'm moving with my partner who's a web designer (also for a London agency). So the option is there to start up a small business of our own and opt out of the 9-6 'working for the man' approach. I'm also a Reiki teacher (http://www.reikiattunements.net) with global clients which I could try to expand on.
Is there anyone with similar skills on the forum?
After three visits to NZ, the first 7 years ago, it's great to finally be gearing up for the move... every time I visit I have to be dragged back on the plane home!
