Haven't seen this addressed anywhere yet that I've looked. We're planning to ship our stuff (from the US) in early April, but won't be in NZ until mid June (off on honeymoon for meantime). What happens if our stuff gets to NZ before we do? Can they just hold it? Thanks in advance!

Cat,
I asked this same question to the shipping company I'm going to be using (they do CO also, BTW). Since all my posessions will be crated, the shipping company can keep them in the shipping warehouse until I need them, for a fee of course. It should take me about 6 weeks for my belongings to go from crated to arrival since I'll be sharing a 20 foot container (not bringing too much stuff). I want to be sure that they can hold on to my belongings in case I don't find a flat right away.

I asked our shippers this very question. We are using White & Co from Staffordshire UK to NZ.
Yes they will hold your container until you are able to have it delivered but it has to remain sealed and of course - there's a weekly charge, don't know how much though.

Diny,
Thanks! That helps. I'll check on the cost of heaving our stuff held and post it when I hear. Much appreciated!
