We are now 12 months into the emigration process and it is only the fact that the house hasn't yet sold that is keeping us here and it has been on the market for almost 8 months (can't believe it's been that long:wah :wah
Interested to know because I am nosey really
1. How long did your emigration process take?
2. How long did house take to sell? (if applicable)
Cheers

Hi Nat ,
We started the process Jan 05 ,got our WTR visa in July .
Put the house on the market ,only had one viewer in 2 months ,luckily they bought it .
Moved here Dec 1st.
At the time it seemed a very long process ,looking back now I guess it wasnt that long.
Been out here for over 2 years now and love it !
Good Luck to you !

We submitted our EOI in September 2006, OH got job offer at NZ Expo in October 2006, Put house on market end November and it sold 3 weeks later (so spend 3 months in temporary rental). Got PR stickers last week of April 2007 and we flew out to Auckland 3 weeks later in May 2007, so in total 8 months. Probably could have done it quicker, but PR was done to time with job offer start date and we didn't want to leave UK before baby no 3 was 3 months old.
Think we were very lucky as it was all really quite a smooth process apart from me having a baby in middle of house move day :o

Our signature outlines the highlights :clap
We starting thinking about it after our honeymoon here and our first thoughts were too retire but soon ditched those to living here, that decision was Jan 2007.
PS Sorry to all those with houses for sale but ours went on day it went on market, cash full asking price........... dead lucky as the buyers had been looking to move to that road for very long time and werent going to miss out.
Good wishes to all those who have to sell

Had to ask hubby as he did the paperwork... EOI went in about July 04, selected Dec 04, ITA received and medicals all done and dusted by xmas, and ITA returned early Jan, PR stickers and passports back by end Jan 05.
We then looked at marketing the house in Feb, hubby got job offer for end Apr start date, we actually concluded the sale the day before he flew at end Apr, and the final transfer of the house was complete end May 05, I flew 1st Jun 05, dog arrived 2nd June. Bought house July 05.
All in all from start to finish of us first applying, to us all being in NZ and living in our own home, one year!

We went to reccie in april 2006 and got the job..for some reasons, to hand in EOI was delayed while tried to sort out the paperwork etc. We knew we want to go, and took risk to put house on market early in May, got rid of car in july so without car for long time :laugh and had leaving party organised in short time once we found out we got PR. We just couldn't wait to get out of UK :nice1
