I don't know what a "hack" is, but St Heliers Pony club has riding stables near the Eastridge Shopping Centre on Kepa Road in Kohimarama. Don't know their hours but seems to be someone there most of the time.

Papakura might be worth a look as well, thats where that horse Vet was going to be based in the "Wanted Down Under" programme!

Thanks, I was hoping for somewhere someone had experience of.
Most stables though are just stables, not riding schools. I found one a few months ago, pirea beach or something about 1 1/2 hours north. Enjoyed it but want to try something different. The two areas, Whitford and Papakura must have something but they don't seem to use the net to advertise. Might just have to pick a stable out of yellow pages and ask.

Thanks, Alan

You could try the Sonshine Ranch (their spelling!) between Papakura and Clevedon. It's on Creighton Road and from what little I know they do everything from lessons to treks to ranch camps.
