Just wondering if anyone can recomend and good air freight companies?
Time is passing us by very fast and we only have 5 weeks left before we fly.:clap
We now have an addtional 3 guitars and a couple of small boxes we also need to take.
Our original shippers quoted us over £1000, I'm sure we can get it cheaper somewhere.

Try to leave behind or sell some of your things. You can always return and hand carry with you to NZ again.

my husband wanted to bring a guitar as excess luggage one time on Air Canada/Air NZ flights and was told it would cost $174 Cdn.

Hi,
try looking at seven seas shipping (just google) - we are looking at bringing out four large boxes of handed down baby stuff and its looking at about £300, which is still a heck of a lot cheaper than buying it all from from new. the boxes have max dimensions (see website), but I think they will also quote you for additional items such as guitars, just that they can't give standard pricing on their website
someone in my office used them and said they were great,....
hope that helps...

If you are flying out with AirNZ, you can send stuff with them as unaccompanied baggage. This means that you check it in at a different bit of Heathrow airport, and it goes out on whatever plan has space in the <10 days after your flight, then you can collect it from the airport at the other end.
Their rates are a flat charge of £60 (and ~NZ$40 the other end), plus £4.20 per kilo (minumum of £50). If you are taking more than 100kg, then the rate is only £3.50 per kilo.

this company was recommended to me by the guys that deal with Singapore Airlines Cargo .... only of use if in London area though ...
http://www.keyair.co.uk/index.php.
I was quoted total of £132 for 20kg (plus handling fees in NZ which will amount to approx 60 - $ or £, I can't remember which).
I will use keyair when my time comes
