Hi All,

Saw a link posted by Beach Kiwi (thanks! :nice1 ) in another thread which prompted a thought for a new thread. I'm trying to put information together for Andrew, who is 10, to get him involved as much as possible in the NZ adventure that we are embarking on. Unfortunartely many of the sites that we look at will be far too boring for him and of little interest. The site that got my attention was this one:

www.kidsnewzealand.com

Has anyone else come across any sites that would be good for our kids, of any age, to look at and learn more about the place we are taking them to?

Cheers,

Mark. :P

Hi Mark

Thanks for the website - I was just about to go on to the Yellow Pages to find out where the hydroslide in Nelson was - but now I dont need to. You know more information on New Zealand than we do, and we have been here for nearly a year!!

Thanks again

Janet :clap :cool

Thanks for the sites, I will get Rhiannon on them, so she can explore too.

She is a little worried about leaving her friends, and making new ones, but is very outgoing so should be OK. Kids always manage it easier.

She is very upset about leaving her Goldfish though, I have promised her a new one when we get there. That brought more tears than friends or family.

She would also love to email any kids who are going, or are there already toknow how they feel about it.

Jo,

How old is Rhiannon? I have an 8 year old girl who would happily email her and tell her about life in NZ, especially after Thursday when she starts at her new school.

Similarly Mark, we have an 11 yr old boy who would answer any questions I'm sure.

Thanks for the links guys, I'd been wondering for a while if there was something I could show/share with Lianne.

Great if some of our kids end up mailing eachother :nice1 Thinking how much this forum site and the members mean to us, it would be a great preparation for our kids too if they could e-mail eachother.

Unfortunately Lianne is a little young to type, doing great learning to write though, so I can see myself doing some for her. I know she's keen to get in touch with Lucy (Linda & Ali's 4yr old) as they really hit it of at the meetings we've had.

Rhiannon is 71/2, the 1/2 being very important at this stage of life. Just forget about the fractions as you get to my age.

She would love to email someone, and is just learning to do it at school too.

Where are you based in NZ?

Thanks

Jo

Sorry just saw where you are located, Perfect as when we move (see how positive I am) she would be able to meet.

Wish them well on their first day at school?
