Hi There,
We're booked in for medicals for the family. Has anyone got any advice or tips on how to make the medicals easier on small children? How long did it take?
Thanks!

Sure things haven't changed much but they will just check them over. Nothing major at all, don't forget to take your red books with all their records.
Sure others will confirm this. They didn't have blood tests or anything like that.

When my 3 yr old was examined it was just height / weight, and reflexes I agree nothing major at all, I think he may have had an eye sight test too, nothing to worry about

Phew!
That sounds better! I had nightmares about my 1 year old daughter head butting the doctor whilst the nurse was trying to get a knitting needle into a vein!!
Thanks for the tips on the red books, I hadn't seen that mentioned.
How did you guys find the medicals?

We were waiting a long time for ours about 1 hour which was quite difficult with a 6 & 3 Year old. they were in and out but me and hubby seemed to take a while. A great relief when it was all over.
The Dr who did it though was very professional, I just hate the thought of examinations for whatever reason, - nothing too traumatic though
Good luck!!!

Our Doc had some toys and books for ours to play with as Oh and my medicals took longer than the childrens - which seemed to be a cursory look. On the off chance not all Doc's are as accomodating you might want to take some of your childrens toys with you.
