I'm coming over to NZ in Oct on a working hoiday visa from the UK - but I have two options for the visa:

12 month stay - no medical - this can then be extended to 23months whilst in NZ with a medical
23 month stay - medical costing around £300

I've heard that this medical (chest xray, examination and blood test) is cheaper in NZ than here - is this true?

Plus, does anyone know if it costs to extend the WHV whilst in NZ?

A friend is about to do this - she only got the 12 month WHV, and is about to extend for another 11 months. She went to my GP to have her medical, and including x-ray and blood tests cost her about $250.
I'm not sure how much she has to pay to extend the visa though - she had to go to the NZIS office to do this.
