Hi we are traveling around the north island March 08 for 3 weeks, we are planning to stay in Devonport for the last four days. Can anybody recommend any were to stay 2 adults and 1 child.

We wont to explore Auckland, but dont wont to say in the city centre.

We stayed in Ducks Crossing Cottage B&B in a family en-suite room which was quite reasonably priced. Lovely, helpful hosts who will give you a tour of Devonport if you wish and beautifully prepared and presented breakfast.

I do not recommend Karin's Garden Villa - we lasted one night there then checked out and luckily found Ducks Crossing.

I live in Devonport so haven't tried out many of the holiday lets but I'm sure I could come up with some suggestions if you give me a clue what you are looking for.

What type of place are you looking for - hotel, B&B, holiday let, budget? Garden, tv? Will you have a car or will you be using ferry & bus? Did you want to stay in the 'village bit', near a park, beach etc?

It only has one hotel, The Esplanade which has a very good location in the centre of the village and overlooking the ferry terminal:

Most people I know stay in B&Bs or holiday lets. But just be careful as a lot of places advertised as Devonport can be a bit further out, fine if you have a car but not so good otherwise.
